Bonsack

Bonsack

Bonsack garage doors were manufactured until 1999 by Bonsack Ltd who were based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire and produced a broad range GRP, Steel and Timber garage doors.

Bonsack steel doors were branded “Capital” and were made by Capital Garage Doors Ltd of Upminster, Essex until June 1995. Bonsack GRP doors were branded under the County Mouldings name until January 1994.

In 1999 the company was taken over by the Cardale Group and the range of products was massively changed and expanded. Steel door production was amalgamated with Cardale’s Apex Garage Doors business in Luton, Bedfordshire and two years later GRP door production was moved to Cardale’s Wessex Garage Doors factory in Verwood, Dorset.

The supply of spares for the majority of doors whether made by Capital, County Mouldings and latterly Apex and Wessex, is still good as can be seen from the listings below.

Identification can be an issue on the pre 1999 doors as labelling was not very informative or non-existent. If you cannot identify parts easily from our listings we suggest that you email us a picture of the door and part required so that we can identify it for you.

However, spare parts for the later Cardale Bonsack doors are readily available as they are the same as those used on the Cardale and Wessex ranges of doors.

Where spares are no longer available it may still be possible to supply compatible parts such as locking bars and spring adjuster bolts, see our universal spares section, and if the door panel is still serviceable but the gear is worn out, we can supply a completely new set of gear, see our gear and locking sets and accessories section.

The stock listing below covers both the old Bonsack, Capital and County Mouldings doors and the later Cardale Bonsack ranges.
